Making Mathematical Models for the Humanities:Chinese Thought from the Perspective of Artificial General Intelligence
The goal of Artificial General Intelligence(AGI)research is to create an intelligent agent, such as a physical robot or a virtual digital human, that can match human capabilities and intelligence, and"possess"human emotions and ethical values. The training of general intelligence is similar to the training of students,in that they need to be endowed with ideas(worldview),value orientations(values)and behavioral norms(outlook on life and society). In addition to the individual level,it also includes a larger scale to build the whole of the intelligent society. Therefore, the issues studied by AGI research and humanities and social sciences are essentially similar. This paper attempts to build a two-way connection between the humanities and social sciences and AGI:firstly,it establishes a"Xin"for the machine, and to give the AI a value system and cognitive structure. The second is to assign"Li"to humanities, interpreting Chinese thinking with the mathematical and cognitive models of AI,trying to build a rigorous mathematical system for China's philosophical thinking, which will guide social governance and practice in the coming AI era,and thus be transformed into powerful productivity.
