With the development of information technology,multimodal discourse analysis theory based on systemic functional linguistics has been widely applied.In recent years,many domestic scholars have carried out various academic study on the combination of this theory with foreign language teaching.This paper starts with the theory of multimodal discourse analysis,summarizes the problems in the teaching of college Japanese vocabulary,analyzes the significance of the application of the theory to teaching,and elaborates the specific practical methods of the theory in teaching.Finally,some inspirations from the theory brought to Japanese teaching are discussed.
