In recent years,the proposal of the New Engineering Education(NEE)has significantly propelled the reform of civil engineering education in China.This paper delves into the development of civil engineering major under the background of the NEE.First,an analysis of the NEE background and its essence is presented,emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary integration and innovative talent cultivation.Subsequently,the current status of the civil engineering major is elucidated,unveiling the urgency and necessity of educational reform in the NEE context.Based on this,the paper delineates the specific objectives of developing a civil engineering major under the NEE paradigm,and proposes a series of pertinent construction measures.These include the optimization of the curriculum system,reinforcement of the faculty team,innovation in teaching methods,deepening of school-enterprise collaboration,and integration of ideological and political education.This paper aims to provide beneficial references for the improvement and development of civil engineering major.
