The College of Horticulture and Plant Protection of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University was established in 2018,and its history can be traced back to 1952.Shortly after the founding of the People's Republic of China,with the support of the Party,the state mobilized outstanding teachers from all over the country to support the construction of Inner Mongolia.At present,the college has three undergraduate majors,horticulture,plant protection,facility agricultural science and engineering,among which horticulture and plant protection are selected as the national first-class undergraduate major construction point,marking that the undergraduate education has entered a critical moment of development.At the same time,it also puts forward a new task,that is,how to improve the training ability of professional talents on the original basis.Therefore,it is urgent to reform the original curriculum.Practical courses are the enlightenment to guide students to learn professional knowledge,therefore,it is particularly critical in agriculture-related undergraduate education.In August 2021,the Ministry of Education put forward the requirements on strengthening and improving the cultivation education in agriculture-related colleges and universities and increasing the proportion of practical teaching.Therefore,we should make adjustments in the practical teaching link.The course of"Plant Production Basis"is an important practical course for the college to train undergraduate talents,and it is a compulsory course.Standing at the historical intersection of the"two centenary goals",the college closely follows the Party's thought and explores the teaching reform of this course,focusing on both professional courses and ideological and political construction,and the teacher team actively discusses in order to explore a new teaching model.
