The construction of emerging engineering education and ideological and political education in courses exhibit a close inherent consistency.The emerging engineering education provides a fresh platform for ideological and political education,while ideological and political education,in turn,offers strategic guidance for the development of emerging engineering education.However,the vigorous development of emerging engineering education also poses novel challenges for ideological and political education,especially in areas such as achieving interdisciplinary integration,unifying knowledge impartation,and guiding values.These challenges are urgent issues that university teachers need to address in the current context of emerging engineering education.Taking the example of the course Non-Equilibrium Solidification of Metals,this paper introduces a project-based learning approach.Through the development of ideological and political cases and discourse expression,it argues how ideological and political cases can serve as a medium to ensure the better integration of ideological and political education into the construction of emerging engineering education.The design of individual and group project cases encompasses core course knowledge points and ideological and political elements,with the aim of guiding students in deep thinking through these cases.Simultaneously,interdisciplinary integration is pursued by organically incorporating engineering and humanities and social science content into the projects.Emphasis is placed on teamwork,and through project discussions and assessments,students are guided to form positive values.This interactive and engaging classroom practice revitalizes the originally complex and obscure course knowledge,while also inspiring students to engage in independent reflection on professional knowledge and questions related to"why learn"and"how to learn".This teaching method aims to effectively implement the fundamental task of moral education and character development,fostering students with more comprehensive qualities while pursuing their professional disciplines.
