"Introduction to the Environment in China and Abroad"is a new elective course of general education based on the construction of Overseas Campus of Tongji University in Florence in 2023,which enables undergraduates who are not majoring in environment to understand the current situations of domestic environmental governance and the main environmental governance technologies,and then go abroad to understand the concepts of environmental governance in Europe,environmental governance facilities and the main governance technologies.Through giving the basic knowledge of water treatment,air pollution control and solid waste management and other content in a modular way,combined with typical case analysis,practical visits and seminars,the"theoretical learning-overseas cognitive practice-international cultural exchanges"teaching chain is built.On this basis,it strengthens students'knowledge of ecological environment protection,practices the concept of ecological civilization,enhances students'international vision and international cultural exchange ability,and cultivates students'sense of responsibility,national sentiment and global competence.
