Postgraduate tutors play an important role in postgraduate training,and their guidance modes and methods are related to the quality of postgraduate training.Based on the training objectives of graduate students majoring in Geography,this paper summarizes the shortcomings in current guidance modes and methods employed by postgraduate tutors.Under the concept of Outcome-based Education,the team guiding mechanism would improve from the selection and appointment,the team collaboration and the working mechanism of postgraduate tutors.Taking into account the characteristics of Geography,this paper advocates the establishment of an advisors'working mechanism from communication mechanism,passing on experience and a strong emphasis on scientific research practice.This study would leverage the role of tutors to improve the quality of postgraduate training,and could also serve as a reference for the construction of tutor team and the improvement of tutor working mechanism.
