Currently,the higher education in China has transferred from elite education to mass education,and local universities mainly cultivate applied talents.The main problems faced by Hunan Institute of Technology in talent cultivation are that many university students and their parents do not know enough about the cultivation of applied talents;the government and enterprises do not pay enough attention to the cultivation of applied talents;and the institute is short of teachers to cultivate applied talents.Therefore,in the future,we need to solve the problems from the following three aspects,strengthening the Party building,constructing a talent cultivation system that integrates moral education and intellectual education,teaching and scientific research,discipline and profession,the first classroom and the second classroom;strengthening the construction of teachers,recruit teachers with enterprise engineering experiences,and send teachers to companies to learn engineering experiences;implementing industry-education integration,developing university-enterprise cooperation courses,and reconstructing curriculum system.With these measures taken,local universities will become high-level application-oriented universities with distinctive characteristics if the existing problems are properly solved.
