From the perspectives of language transfer,cognition,and cultural differences,research on college English teaching for ethnic minority students is receiving increasing attention.The English learning of ethnic minority college students with multicultural backgrounds often undergoes a extremely complex and specific mother tongue → Chinese → English trilingual thinking transition process.In addition,ethnic minority college students have their unique cultural background and living environment,and their English learning is deeply influenced by their own ethnic culture.On the basis of summing up the progress of university English teaching research of ethnic minority students,the issues of three language conversion and cultural differences have been analyzed.Starting from the theories of language transfer and cognition,two new countermeasures have been proposed to address the issue of trilingual conversion,focusing on comparative analysis and structural commonality cognition of the three languages,and strengthening the direct thinking conversion between minority languages and English.Based on the theory of cultural dimensions,another two new methods have been put forward to solve the problem of culture difference,strengthening the recognition of multiculturalism and their quality tendencies,and integrating minority culture.It expected that this research could provide useful references for the research and reform of college English teaching for ethnic minority students.
