The cultivation of high-level innovative talents is reliant on excellent postgraduate tutors,and improving the tutor's ability is a necessary condition for the cultivation of high-level innovative talents.This study analyzes the dilemma of tutor ability improvement,builds a tutor ability system for the cultivation of high-level innovative talents in engineering,and puts forward some effective methods for tutor ability improvement.These methods include innovating the selection mechanism of tutor,improving the effectiveness of tutor's moral cultivation,establishing an efficient tutor training mechanism,and building an interdisciplinary tutor communication mechanism.Through these measures,it is expected to improve the guidance ability of tutors,promote the cultivation of graduate students'innovative ability,and provide reference for the reform of higher education.
