To explore the application value of ideological and political education in the undergraduate teaching of Otolaryngology.Two clinical undergraduate classes of Guizhou Medical University,which set Otolaryngology as a compulsory course,were selected for teaching research.We select 25 students in two classes according to the student number interval,and divide them into the conventional group(teaching with traditional methods)and the research group(mining ideological and political education elements and integrating ideological and political elements into professional theory for teaching).The study compares the theoretical achievements,skill achievements,clinical application-related abilities of the two groups of students(clinical thinking,knowledge application level,communication ability,clinical coping ability,learning interest,ability to combine theory with practice,and overall quality),and ideological and political abilities(humanistic care,sense of responsibility,ideological and political status,and requirements for self-career planning in practice).The theoretical and technical achievements of the research group were higher than those of the conventional group.The clinical thinking,knowledge application level,communication ability,clinical coping ability,learning interest,ability to combine theory with practice,and overall quality of the research group were higher than those of the conventional group.The research group's humanistic care,sense of responsibility,ideological and political status,and self-career planning requirements in practice are higher than those of the conventional group.The application of ideological and political courses in the undergraduate teaching of Otolaryngology is effective,which can help students correct their learning attitude,improve their theoretical achievements,technical achievements,clinical application-related abilities and ideological and political abilities in Otolaryngology,and promote their comprehensive quality significantly.
