Embedded System Principle and Experiment is the core professional course of biomedical engineering. The goal of this course is to master the application skills of embedded systems in measurement and control and other related fields through basic theory learning, program development and hardware design,so as to lay a foundation for the development of measurement and control systems related to biomedical engineering in the future. However, the traditional experimental course outline is mainly designed for the modular experimental teaching cases under the pan-engineering system. There are the following limitations:on the one hand,it can not deeply train students'thinking and cooperative spirit of integrated project development; On the other hand, the lack of specific training for biomedical engineering makes the professional experience of students not strong. Therefore, this paper takes Embedded System Principle and Experiment of School of Biomedical Engineering of Sun Yat-sen University as an example to carry out the project teaching reform and practice of the course.Based on the original modular and discrete experiments, combined with the application needs of health and medical engineering,we integrated them into comprehensive practical projects.Through the form of grouping and comparison,we found that the new teaching mode had significant improvements in improving students'subjective acceptance, enhancing the mastery of experimental courses and promoting the learning of theoretical courses. The teaching reform practice of this course not only enhances students'understanding of the correlation between basic knowledge and applied practice, improves students'comprehensive application and innovation ability of embedded systems, but also deepens students'disciplinary identity and understanding of frontier demands of disciplines, thus promoting the high-quality and connotative development of undergraduates.
