Labor education is an important part of the socialist education system with Chinese characteristics,and attaching importance to labor education has always been the basic requirement of China's educational policy.Paying attention to labor education not only enriches and develops the party's educational policy,but also puts forward new requirements for colleges and universities to improve the quality of talent training.In response to the problem of"emphasis on moral education,intellectual education,and neglect of labor education"in the previous education system,this paper takes the surveying and mapping majors of East China University of Technology as the main research object,a new approach to Five-pronged Labor Education for Surveying and Mapping Majors Guided by the Spirit of Model Worker is constructed.Based on the characteristics of the surveying and mapping majors,the new approach aims to cultivated the students'abilities in five aspects:knowledge dimension,ability dimension,quality dimension,emotional dimension and innovation dimension during the teaching process.It is committed to cultivating students with extensive knowledge and innovative ability and adapting to social needs new era workers.
