With the development of Emerging Engineering Education and the modern hydraulic industry, new requirements have been put forward for the cultivation of hydraulic talents in universities, which promotes the exploration and reform of traditional hydraulic engineering to adapt to the"Water Conservancy Information".With the reform target of cultivating"Water Conservancy+Internet"composite talents, this paper takes the hydraulic engineering of Dalian University of Technology as a case to carry out exploration. It analyzes three major challenges faced in the reform, which are the inapplicability of the cultivation mode, the imperfect configuration of the teacher team, and the disconnection of innovation and entrepreneurship education. To address these challenges,a series of practical explorations have been carried out based on the concept of Outcome Based Education.Firstly,it innovatively proposes the"2+2+2 smart integrated"cultivation program and creates a curriculum system that integrates information technology.Secondly,it establishes an interdisciplinary team with both hydraulic engineering and information technology. Finally,it develops an on-and off-campus innovation platform to match the cultivation program. This paper provides new feasible ideas for the exploration and reform of college majors, with a view to serving as a reference for other colleges and universities.
