The major of material engineering encompasses the fundamental technology in a crucial national field. However,in recent years, students have shown limited enthusiasm and identification with the major. One significant reason for this is the insufficient integration of curriculum and ideological and political education.Additionally, course instructors generally lack practical experience in key fields, making it challenging to fully incorporate ideological and political elements such as the pivotal role of material engineering in national rejuvenation and industrial spirit into their teaching. To address this issue,we propose an ideological and political teaching mode called"double teachers and double classes",which has been implemented in the national first-class curriculum teaching. This approach involves inviting talents and course instructors from key industries like aerospace, aviation, and shipbuilding to form a"double teacher"teaching team while structuring the classroom and practice base into a"double classroom".Combined with the"134"course's ideological and political teaching mode, this not only facilitates knowledge application but also fosters a deep understanding of material engineering's core role across various key industries. It enhances students'emotional connection to science and technology serving the country through industry spirit education. The proposed ideological and political teaching mode holds significant reference value for promoting reform within applied courses.
