The Practical Course of Zoology is a compulsory subject foundation course for undergraduate students majoring in biological sciences at the School of Life Sciences,Huizhou University.It mainly includes two courses:zoology experiments and zoology internships,both of which are independent courses.The courses of zoology experiments and zoology internships contain a lot of ideological and political elements.This study analyzed the purpose and significance of ideological and political education in practical courses at local universities,explored the ideological and political characteristics of animal science experimental courses and internship courses at local universities and practiced the ideological and political content of courses such as patriotism,life philosophy,gratitude,animal protection,love for labor,teamwork,and ecological civilization concepts through stories of animal science scientists,basic operating techniques and methods of animal experiments,the role of animal science experimental materials in human daily life,observation of animal ecological habits,cleaning and breeding experiments after animal science experiments,animal science field biodiversity internships,and animal science field coastal animal internships.
