Translation is a linguistic activity involving reading, comprehension and expression. It serves as a crucial means for college students to engage in international communication of professional knowledge and the dissemination of Chinese culture.Eye-tracking is an important research method in the field of cognitive science. It can reveal the visual processing mechanism and the cognitive process of translation by recording students'real-time eye movement behaviors during translation.Based on cognitive translation research using eye-tracking technology over the past decade, this paper analyzes the significant factors that affect the enhancement of translation cognitive abilities, covering syntactic structure, lexical category, metaphoric category, translation direction, and reading stage. The findings of the study provide new insights for the cultivation of college students'translation ability and empirical evidence for the reform and practice of translation teaching. The construction of college students'translation ability should incorporate the interdisciplinary research results, optimize the design of translation teaching, and implement targeted cognitive training, offering students more specific translation training strategies.
