This paper, leveraging the"Theory and Practice of Satellite Telemetry,Tracking, and Command"course at Beihang Uni-versity as a case study, delves into constructing a new era characteristic teaching and research system for aerospace courses facilitated by the vertical and horizontal network. The vertical network spans knowledge and skill development from high school to postgraduate levels, while the horizontal network emphasizes the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and innovation. The paper initially elucidates the significance of the vertical and horizontal networks and their application in aerospace research and education. It then meticulously outlines the mechanisms and strategies for the network's synergistic empowerment, along with the satellite command hall's composition, functions, and operational modes, which serve as the vehicle for this empowerment.Special attention is paid to the stu-dent-led satellite command hall's linkage with commercial space company resources and its complementary relationship with domestic large-scale industrial software.Subsequently, the paper introduces an innovative teaching method to cultivate"two total"(Chief Design-er,Commander-in-Chief)students,integrating the satellite command hall with real satellite teaching aids and encompassing a holistic knowledge framework spanning undergraduate, graduate, and research stages. Finally, the paper proposes the challenges and opportuni-ties faced by the characteristic teaching and research system for aerospace courses empowered by the vertical and horizontal network in the new era.
