With the development of the new era's social economy,higher agricultural and forestry colleges and universities should closely integrate with the national major strategic needs and regional economic and social development needs,effectively leverage the characteristics and advantages of agricultural colleges,focus on the task of strengthening agriculture and promoting agriculture,accelerate the construction of high-level agricultural undergraduate education,and comprehensively improve the ability to cultivate agricultural talents.These colleges and universities should adhere to scientific development,accelerate the cultivation of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents,continuously improve the educational level of higher agricultural and forestry colleges,and enhance their ability to serve agriculture,rural areas,farmers,and regional development.In the context of the new agricultural science,this paper focuses on the main characteristics of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents.Taking Henan Agricultural University as an example,the study introduces its exploration and practice in the training mode of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents.The aim is to improve the quality of training for students in higher agricultural and forestry colleges and universities and provide strong talent guarantee for revitalizing higher agricultural and forestry education and promote China's transformation from an agricultural power to an agricultural powerhouse.
