This paper aims to compare and analyze the development process,policies and systems,achievements and problems of higher education reform and innovation in China and Japan,and provide suggestions for China's higher education reform and innovation on this basis.Firstly,this paper briefly describes the historical background and current situation of higher education reform and innovation in China and Japan,and elaborates on the research purpose,methods,significance,and inspiration of this study.Subsequently,a detailed comparative analysis was conducted on higher education between China and Japan from five aspects:historical development,current situation comparison,policy systems,achievement issues,and common differences.Then,the paperproposes suggestions from four levels:national level,educational system level,educational management level,and educational teaching level.Finally,the paper points out in the conclusion that both China and Japan have made significant progress and experience in higher education reform and innovation,but they also face some common and unique problems and challenges.China should actively explore higher education reform and innovation paths that are suitable for its own national conditions while absorbing and drawing on international experience.
