With the development of modern biotechnology,human life has changed dramatically.Currently,biotechnology has become an important driving force for future development.Modern Biotechnology:Harnessing the Gene and Remaking the World is a core general education course at Sun Yat-sen University.Based on the development process and conceptual principles,the course demonstrates the great impact of modern biotechnology on human society through specific examples of remaking the world.We summarized the course construction from the objectives and significance,course content,teaching form,ideological and political education,and assessment methods,aiming to lay a solid foundation for cultivating comprehensive talents and expanding students'knowledge.
