Application-oriented undergraduate universities are an important part of ordinary colleges and universities in China.Most of them are transformed from newly-builtlocal ordinary undergraduate universities.They have cultivated a large number of application-oriented talents for the local economic and social development.Undergraduate level vocational universities train technical and skilled personnel at undergraduate level,which is the extension of vocational education at junior college level at undergraduate level.There are similarities and differences between application-oriented undergraduate universities and undergraduate level vocational universities.Under the background of the rise of undergraduate level vocational universities,this paper analyzes the problems faced by application-oriented undergraduate universities,and puts forward the development countermeasures from the aspects of clarifying the orientation of application-oriented universities,implementing the talent training goal of high quality applied talents,professional settings to connect with regional industries,building a broad foundation and application-oriented curriculum system,vigorously cultivating high-level and"double qualified"teachers,and exploring a new path of integration of industry and education.
