The release of"the Declaration on the Construction of the New Liberal Arts"has promoted the status of liberal arts education unprecedentedly.Based on"National standards for Undergraduate Teaching Quality of Foreign Language and Literature Majors in Colleges and Universities"and"Teaching Guide for Undergraduate English Majors in Colleges and Universities","Introduction to English Literature"has been listed as the core curriculum for English majors in the talent training program for English majors.Based on the existing problems of this course,such as the separation of goals from critical thinking,separation of learning from life and inadequate teaching facilitating scientific research,the author adhers to the idea of integrity and innovation in Yunnan Agricultural University,and conducts a series of exploration and practice of this course in teaching content,teaching resources,teaching model and teaching evaluation.At present,the results have been improved from students'satisfaction with the course,students'comprehensive ability,and teaching and scientific research,which has provided great significance and practice worthiness for other colleges.
