The Analysis on the Inheritance and Development of Contemporary Gardening Culture in Southern Fujian——Taking the Practice of Gardening at Taohua Island in Quanzhou West Lake Park as an Example
The gardening culture with significant regional characteristics in southern Fujian is an important component of Chinese traditional garden culture.Taking the practice of gardening at Taohua Island in Quanzhou West Lake Park as an example,through literature review and case studies,this paper explores the characteristics of gardens in Southern Fujian and analyzes the changes in gardening due to changes in service objects,functional requirements,land scale and construction technologies in the development of the times.The construction of Taohua Island Garden in Quanzhou West Lake Park strives to respond to this change,building Southern Fujian gardens with significant regional cultural characteristics and strong characteristics of the times.It tries to reflect on the inheritance and development of gardening culture,the relationship between gardening and garden maintaining and summarizes the shortcomings in practice to provide some experiences and.references for gardening activities in future.
