A Preliminary Study of the Aesthetic Tradition and Diachronic Characteristics of the Village Garden
The village is a common image in ancient Chinese literary works,and village gardens are also an important type of classical Chinese gardens.However,due to the lack of physical remains,the research on it has been neglected for a long time,and there is a lack of clarity of its concept and summary of its characteristics.Therefore,this paper combines historical documents and typical cases to expound the aesthetic tradition between the village and the garden,as well as the diachronic characteristics between the mood of the gardeners and the construction of the garden,from the perspective of time.In order to construct an understanding of village gardens and expand the horizon of Chinese garden history research.
