Analysis on Temporal and Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Personality Temple Buildings in Hubei Province in Ming and Qing Dynasties
Among the folk deities worshipped by the Chinese people,there is a considerable proportion of"personality gods",whose excellent moral qualities and humanistic spirit have led social customs and promoted the behavior of the masses.As one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization,the Hubei region,with its rich historical heritage,unique pivotal position and collective personality of"daring to be the first in the world",provides sufficient conditions for the development of personality deity shrines and temples.Most of the surviving shrines and temples of personality in Hubei were built during the Ming and Qing dynasties.This paper explores the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and reasons of Hubei's personality deity shrines and temples of the Ming and Qing dynasties from the perspective of local chronicles,with a view to providing reference for the succession and innovation of the excellent Chinese traditional culture in the new era.
