From Sumeru Sacred Land to Wutai Model——Evolution,Characteristics and Spread of Buddhist Ideal Landscape
Mount Sumeru is a sacred mountain in Buddhist cosmology,and its sacred land schema is a common imitation object in Buddhist landscape.Wutai Mountain is the first of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China,and it has built the earliest"Sumeru Holy Land"in China,which is the prototype and paradigm of the spatial pattern of the five peaks,five temples and five stations in later generations.This paper attempts to explore the origin and evolution between the spatial paradigm of Wufang Mountain,which is dominated by Wutai Mountain,and the structural system of"Sumeru Holy Land"presented in the Buddhist world view of Sumeru Mountain,analyze and summarize its regional characteristics and cultural images,enrich the classic prototype of Buddhist China landscape map,and provide basic research reference for perfecting the construction of Buddhist"Wutai Model"in the traditional landscape model system of China.
