The Neolithic period to the late Shang Dynasty was a period of explosive and creative prehistoric human civilization with relatively many archaeological sites and relics.Based on this,this review combines the prehistoric landscape archaeology hotspots of the Jianghan Plain to organize.Firstly,an overview of the archaeological situation,distribution pattern,site selection,characteristics,and changes of prehistoric city sites and settlements is provided,and an extended exploration is conducted on the prehistoric culture,choice of residence,and social organization reflected in them;Secondly,this article reviews the prehistoric environment of the Jianghan Plain from two aspects:the changes of prehistoric Yunmeng Lakes and prehistoric plant archaeology.It is believed that the prehistoric landscape of the Jianghan Plain has great potential for excavation and research value,especially the lack of research on prehistoric plant archaeology and ecological environment restoration.This is a relatively pale field for the historiography of human settlements,so the summary and arrangement of the prehistoric landscape archaeology of Jianghan Plain will be of great supplementary value.
