Research on the Architectural Features and Sacrificial Space of the Main Hall of Dongyue Temple in Xi'an
Xi'an Dongyue Temple is one of the first batch of cultural relics protection units in Shaanxi Province.It was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty.It is the main temple of Dongyue in Guanzhong area.It can reflect the spatial and form characteristics of the fusion of local Taoist architecture and official practices.Taking the integrity and distribution rules of the murals of the seventy-two divisions in the hall as clues,this paper discusses the changing process of the opening methods of the gates and the indoor streamlines in the past dynasties.The adaptation between the built space and the sacrificial activities restores and deduces the Taoist fasting scene,and deeply explores the interaction between the building body of Dongyue Temple and the liturgy.
