Research on Conservation Techniques of Modern Church Architectural Heritage——A Case Study of Mochou Road Church in Nanjing
In view of the stylistic variability of the architectural heritage and the domestic and foreign influences on formal features,modern churches have shaped a high degree of complexity.Taking the Mochou Road Church in Nanjing as an example,this paper systematically studies its architectural form,its current condition assessment,and its conservation techniques to protect such type of architectural heritage by scientific means.It uncovers the form and construction characteristics through the architectural form research,as well as the diseases of this church heritage through the current condition assessment.With the consideration of the architectural form findings and the assessment analysis results,a bunch of adaptive conservation techniques which are scientific and reasonable are proposed,including the reinforcement techniques of the wood beams and concrete floors,the restoration&protection techniques of walls and roofs,and so on.The findings of this paper can serve as a reference for the scientific conservation of brick-wood architectural heritages of the same style.
