Preliminary Study on the Architectural Features and Revitalization of Futian Temple in Shouyang County,Shanxi Province
Futian Temple,located in Shouyang County,Jinzhong,Shanxi,is a temple complex that integrates buildings from the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties,and has typical Shanxi local characteristics. Its main hall is a Yuan Dynasty building with an exact date,which is a typical case that revealing the evolution of construction technology during the transition period between Yuan and Ming dynasties. The study combed and analyzed the historical evolution and layout of Futian Temple. Interpreted the main building's construction techniques,local characteristics and their prototypes or causes. Finally,the specific measures for the revitalization and utilization of Futian Temple are analyzed,which could provide certain reference for the sustainable utilization of ancient buildings.
