Building a new national security architecture is essential to making sustained progress in the safeguarding of the national security of China in the new era.This notion has experienced a process of continuous exploration and accumula-tion,which involves the increased aware-ness of the need to pursue a holistic ap-proach to national security,establish a national security system,and build a holistic national security architecture.The catalyst or accelerator for the abovemen-tioned process stems from the emphasis the Party Central Committee has put on the coordination of development and security and its vision of fostering a new development paradigm.Building a new national security architecture is necessary for China to coordinate its development and security and foster a new development paradigm.Therefore,we should fully apprehend the historical background and rich implications of the new development paradigm and actively keep up with its requirements.Building a new national security architecture is essential to effec-tively addressing the historical and pro-found changes in China's national security environment in the new era.Hence,we should have a full grasp of the interactions of changes from four dimensions,namely,global changes of a scale unseen in a century,China's strategy of national rejuvenation,a new pattern of interaction between China and the rest of the world,and the new national security architecture.We should use the National Security Strategy(2021-2025)as an opportunity to take well-targeted steps in terms of funda-mental principles and priority tasks and accelerate the building of a new national security architecture in a swift and steady manner.
