Implement Guiding Principles of the 20th CPC National Con-gress and Safeguard National Security on the New Journey
For the very first time,the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)dedicates a special chapter to national security,which fully highlights the importance of national security in the overall work of the Party and the country in the new era.The report applauds the great achievements made in safeguarding national security since the outset of the new era,emphasiz-ing that national security is the bedrock of national rejuvenation and social stability is a prerequisite for building a strong and prosperous China.The report also stresses the need to resolutely pursue a holistic approach to national security and pro-mote national security in all areas and stages of the work of the Party and the country,so as to ensure national security and social stability.The deliberations by the report on a holistic approach to na-tional security build on past achievements,upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground,which include such new expressions and developments as Five Essential Elements and Five Coordi-nations.For the first time ever,the report proposes to safeguard China's new devel-opment pattern with a new security architecture.To safeguard national securi-ty on the new journey,we must focus on the central tasks of the Party to modernize China's national security system and capacity and advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.
