Observation and Reflection on the Current Situation of Global Energy Pipeline Security
The global energy pipelines discussed in this article refer to the over-land cross-border corridors used to trans-port oil and natural gas.They have become the witness of and important vehicles for economic globalization in the energy sector.Connecting resource countries,transit countries,and consuming coun-tries,cross-border oil and gas pipelines inherently have geopolitical and geo-eco-nomic attributes.These pipelines have often been the subject of international political and economic studies.This article intends to decipher the connotations of security in relation to cross-border oil and gas pipelines;systematically analyze the status and security situation of such pipelines in different regions of the world;and examine the operation and security of China's cross-border oil and gas pipelines concentrated in its northwest,northeast,and southwest.Lastly,it proposes some suggestions for ensuring the continued safe operation of China's cross-border oil and gas pipelines.
