Evaluation on the Setting Effect of Temporary Traffic Safety Facilities at the Median Openings in Reconstruction and Expansion Project
The median openings of expressway are high incidence area of traffic accidents in the reconstruction and expansion project. In view of the lack of unified setting standards for temporary traffic safety facilities, the random setting methods at some construction sites, and the poor combination setting effect,an evaluation model for the setting effect of temporary traffic safety facilities at the median openings is established.Firstly, road saturation, average speed, lane occupancy, travel delay and number of traffic conflicts are selected as evaluation indexes, the evaluation metric system for the setting effect of temporary traffic safety facilities are established.Secondly,an evaluation model for the setting effect of temporary traffic safety facilities at the median openings is established based on the improved multidimensional finite interval cloud model. Finally, relying on the practical application of the reconstruction and expansion project of Ning(Nanjing)-Wu(Wuhu)Expressway in Anhui Province, the VISSIM traffic simulation model is established to obtain the traffic safety and traffic efficiency metrics under different setting schemes. These data are bring into the model for calculation, and the results are compared with expert evaluation results and other three evaluation methods. The results show that the model has the highest degree of consistency with the results of expert judgement and is highly applicable to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the setting of temporary traffic safety facilities. The location of diversion signs has the greatest impact on the setting effect of temporary traffic safety facilities at the median openings.
