Lane Variability of Traffic Axle Load and Asphalt Pavement Performance Indexes for Eight-Lane Expressway
In order to actively respond to the idea of intensive construction of expressways and to realize precise maintenance of expressway lane level, the lane variability of traffic axle load and asphalt pavement performance index data of a typical eight-lane section of the Hu-Hang-Yong Expressway in Zhejiang Province are analyzed based on the lane variability of its traffic axle load, and combining multiple fitting models and set degree analysis, the rutting depth RD,international roughness index IRI and pavement distress ratio DR are analyzed. The correlation between traffic axle load and each performance index and its lane variability are discussed. The results show that the traffic axle load and each performance index of asphalt pavement and its clustering are related to the lanes located, and severe damages are mainly concentrated in the third and fourth lanes, and the correlation analysis results of traffic axle load and each performance index also shows different clustering in the first and second lanes and the third and fourth lanes respectively. Therefore,it is suggested that the differences between the first and second lanes and the third and fourth lanes should be fully considered in the subsequent maintenance work of the dual 4-lanes expressway.
