Application of Multi-branch Pile in Bridge Engineering of Shiziyang Link Project
The multi-branch pile is a new type of pile foundation formed by adding branches or disc structure to an ordinary cast-in-place pile using a squeezing and expanding method,suitable for soil layers with a certain thickness that can be squeezed into stable branch and disc cavities.The multi-branch pile makes the cast-in-place pile a variable cross-section,multi-point friction end bearing pile by setting branch and disc structures at different locations along the pile shaft,thus changing the force-bearing mechanism of the pile foundation,significantly improving the bearing capacity of single piles,shortening the pile length,saving materials,reducing costs,and saving construction time,with good economic and social benefits.In the paper,the application of multi-branch piles in the bridge engineering of the Shiziyang Link Project is comprehensively introduced from the aspects of structural form,construction method,stress characteristics,scope of application,calculation of vertical bearing capacity of single pile,and economic analysis.
