Research on Pavement Performance of Cement and Modified Rubber Powder Composite Stabilized Construction Waste
In order to improve the road performance of semi rigid base for cement stabilized construction waste, recycled aggregates from concrete construction waste(RAC)are used to replace different proportions of aggregates in semi-rigid base macadam mixture in this study.Six types of rubber powder and cement composite stabilized construction waste materials(with recycled aggregate content of 0,30%,100%,original and activated rubber powder)are designed through crack resistant grading to test the mechanical properties, crack resistance, and frost resistance of the mixture. It is found that the mechanical performance indicators of the composite stabilized recycled aggregate mixture of rubber powder and cement for construction waste decrease with the increase of recycled aggregate content, mainly due to the presence of micro cracks inside the recycled aggregate of construction waste, and the low strength of the cement mortar attached to its surface, thus causing damage to the thin and weak areas of the interface and significant damage to the unconfined compressive strength and compressive rebound modulus of the mixture. The activation of rubber powder improves its hydrophilicity, enhances the bonding strength between rubber powder and the cement mortar attached to the surface of recycled aggregate, and improves the crack resistance and frost resistance of semi rigid base materials.
