Research on Low Temperature Performance of Emulsified Asphalt Cold Recycled Mixture based on Fracture Energy Theory
For emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture(CRME),there is no corresponding low temperature crack resistance performance index requirement in the domestic asphalt pavement recycling technical specification at present. In order to further improve the application scope of emulsified asphalt cold recycling technology in asphalt pavement in cold regions, based on the fracture energy theory and through the semicircular bending test(SCB)method, the effect of 10 factors are studied and compared including recycling agent,SBR latex, fiber, different asphalt grades, compaction technology, grading, emulsified asphalt content, new aggregate, cement and mineral powder,on the low-temperature cracking resistance of CRME.The test results show that the fracture energy index defined by the SCB test method can well evaluate the low-temperature crack resistance of CRME.By comparing and analyzing the effects of 10 factors,it is found that the most significant factor affecting the low-temperature crack resistance of the mixture is the regenerant, which has an impact on the fracture energy index of more than 60%,followed by cement, fiber and compaction technology, with an impact degree of more than 30%.Finally,according to the engineering application effect, the relevant concrete measures to improve the low-temperature crack resistance performance of CRME are concluded. This study can provide certain theoretical support for the maintenance and repair of asphalt pavement in cold regions.
