Field Test of Dynamic Deformation for Widened Bridge based on Long-gauge FBG Strain Sensing
To evaluate the structural behavior of a widening highway bridge jointed by RC bridge and steel bridge in the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway Expansion Project,a long-gauge FBG strain sensing system is installed to efficiently monitor and assess the dynamic structural performance of the bridges. In this paper, relying on a three-span continuous-beam steel-concrete composite girder widening bridge, the application of long-gauge FBG strain sensing technology in dynamic strain and deflection monitoring are introduced.Based on the dynamic strain input,a dynamic deflection monitoring method can be established through incorporating the conjugate beam theory;the dynamic deformation characteristics of the bridge are thereafter investigated as per the proposed method through field testing. This study provides experimental observations for the dynamic behavior of the new type widened bridge. Moreover,it also constructs an efficient monitoring solution for the long-term dynamic deformation behavior of bridges.
