Traffic Dominance Pattern and Spatial Heterogeneity in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area
The interconnection,inter-accessibility and mutual integration of transportation are the fundamental support and important engine for the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.In the paper,52 counties and districts in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as research units, three indicators are selected:Weighted Traffic Network Density,Traffic Location Centrality, and External Accessibility Index,an improved traffic advantage evaluation model is constructed, and GIS spatial statistical analysis and cold and hot spot analysis are combined to explore the regional traffic dominance pattern and spatial heterogeneity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The conclusions are as follows:(1)the traffic dominance pattern of the Greater Bay Area presents a typical dual core structure centered around Guangzhou and Shenzhen cities, which is a more efficient spatial structure in regional development.(2)The spatial distribution of the transportation network in the Greater Bay Area is unbalanced, which is reflected in the spatial pattern of"strong in the east and weak in the west","strong in the south and weak in the north"with the Pearl River as the boundary.(3)The spatial heterogeneity of transportation in the Greater Bay Area is characterized by significant spatial agglomeration.Zhaoqing City,Jiangmen City, and Huizhou City are currently the weaknesses in the interconnection,inter-accessibility and mutual integration of transportation in the Greater Bay Area.(4)Among the four core cities in the Greater Bay Area, the traffic dominance of the Macao is not high.To achieve deep integration of the Greater Bay Area,it is necessary to focus on filling the transportation gaps of the Macao,so as to better fulfill the radiation leading role of core cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
