Research on Snow Disease Characteristics of Road Area in Wind Blown Snow Area of Inner Mongolia
Embankment type highways in snow blown areas of Inner Mongolia often suffer from snow damage, which seriously threatens road traffic safety and limits transportation capacity. In order to effectively prevent and control snow damage on operating highways and reasonably design new highways in snow blown areas, numerical simulation methods are used to quantitatively analyze the characteristics of snow damage on road areas under various influencing factors, and design parameters for the cross-section of embankment type highways are proposed.Based on field observation data, the reliability of the simulation method is verified, and the characteristics of snow disease on embankment road surface in wind-blown snow area are studied under the influence of incoming wind speed, snow particle size, embankment height, embankment width, slope ratio and other factors. The research results indicate that in order to minimize snow damage on embankment type highways in the wind blown snow areas of Inner Mongolia,it is advisable to use a combination of slope ratio of 1∶3,embankment height of 4 m,and embankment width of 10~15 m as the cross-sectional parameters of the roadbed. In the embankment type road area, there must be snow accumulation at the windward slope toe and leeward slope toe, there will be snow accumulation at the windward slope and on the right side of the road surface, and there will be no snow accumulation at the windward slope top and leeward slope top. When the airflow is disturbed by the embankment, the wind speed in the embankment type highway area exhibits an "M" pattern. The research results can provide certain reference for the prevention and control of wind and snow flow on newly built embankment roads in Inner Mongolia.
