The Realization Process of Employees'Career Self-management:A Grounded Theory Study Based on Attention-based View
The variability and uncertainty of enterprises'external environment highlight the importance of employees'career self-management.Based on attention-based view,this case study constructs a process model of employee career self-management,and explores the dynamic formation mechanism of employees'career management from the interaction between the organization and individuals.At the organization level,the model analyzes the formation process of the decision-making environment of employees'career self-management.In the process,we describe the formation process of organizational strategies,under which the organizational culture and mechanisms establish to promote the implementation of organizational strategies.At the individual level,employees shift their attention on the core information of"I want to develop"by coding and understanding the decision-making environment.Based on these coding and understanding,employees allocate their attention and decide how much time and efforts to allocate to the process of career self-management,thus make career self-management decisions to take actions and achieve a sustainable career growth.
