Analysis of Thermal Efficiency Evaluations for 480 t/h Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers Burning Mixed Fuel of Coal and Petroleum Coke
The design fuel for 480 t/h circulating fluidized bed boiler is mixed fuel of coal and petroleum coke, with a petroleum coke mixed combustion ratio of 25%(by weight). In order to investigate the heat losses and thermal efficiency, performance evaluations of three 480 t/h circulating fluidized bed boilers were carried out.Two different methods, positive balance and negative balance method, were adopted in the evaluations. The measurement and calcula-tion data had been corrected according to ASME PTC 4-2013,and the potential problems in operation were also analyzed. Results showed that the evaluated thermal efficiency of three boilers reached 94.215%,94.220%,and 94.192%,respectively,all of which were higher than guarantee efficiency value of 92.800%.And exhaust flue gas and unburned carbon were the main two sources of boiler heat losses. It was also found that there were some issues with low exhaust gas temperature and large particle size of feeding-coal,which needed to be im-proved in the future.
