Cost and Benefit Analysis of Flexibility Transformation of Coal-Fired Units
The current market mechanism for power auxiliary services has gradually trans-formed coal-fired power plants from traditional primary power sources that provide electricity to basic power sources with reliable and flexible capacity regulation.The existing peak shav-ing benefits of coal-fired power plants can basically cover the cost increment brought about by flexibility transformation.In this paper,air-cooled and wet-cooled units with different parame-ters of coal-fired power plants are selected as the research objects for energy-saving transfor-mation,and the benefits of flexible transformation are analyzed from the aspects of technical transformation cost,coal consumption cost,unit life loss cost,power auxiliary service market revenue and environmental benefit.By combining classic cases and providing empirical formu-las for cost and benefits,it quantitatively analyzes the benefits of flexible transformation of coal-fired units on grid flexibility.
