Evaluation Method for Space Accessibility of Highway Abnormal Indivisible Load Transport
In order to improve the safety of abnormal indivisible load transport on highways and effectively assess the spatial accessibility safety of highway abnormal indivisible load transportation,a method for evaluating the spatial navigability of abnormal indivisible load transportation on highways is proposed by integrating 3 methods:tabular analysis, modeling and calculation, and simulation evaluation.Based on typical combinations of abnormal indivisible load transportation vehicles, including tractor-trailer with long wheelbase and tractor-trailer with multiple axles and wheels, the types of vehicles, steering principles, clearance space, failure modes and other influencing factors are analyzed.Evaluation models and criteria for the space accessibility of horizontal curves and vertical curves on highways are established, and the theoretical clearance width required for abnormal indivisible load transportation on highways is calculated.Additionally, the Auto TURN software is used to create the environment for the passage of abnormal indivisible load transportation vehicles and simulate their turning paths, thereby obtaining the maximum width of the outline safety trajectory during the passage of abnormal indivisible load transportation vehicles.Based on the width range of transportation vehicles, the outline dimensions of the abnormal indivisible load vehicles are classified into 5 levels. The errors between the theoretically calculated clearance width and the maximum width of the simulated outline safety trajectory are compared and analyzed.Furthermore, based on the limit values of highway technical indicators and the threshold of outline dimensions that satisfy the spatial navigability conditions for abnormal indivisible load transportation vehicles, recommended sets of highways suitable for different levels of abnormal indivisible load transportation vehicles are calculated. The result shows that the errors between the theoretically calculated space accessibility of horizontal curves and vertical curves and the simulation-based evaluation are within an acceptable range, indicating that the proposed method for evaluating the spatial navigability of highway abnormal indivisible load transport is scientifically effective.
