Study on Vehicle Lane-changing Based on Evolutionary Game
Vehicles may have driving purpose conflict with other vehicles in terms of lane-changing,and traditional methods do not take into account the dynamic game among vehicles. For this reason, according to the characteristics of urban traffic and the various factors to be considered for vehicle lane-changing,the method of evolutionary game is used to analyze the situation of vehicle lane-changing,and to provide a scheme for vehicles'driving decision.First of all,the factors considered when lane-changing(e.g.time loss, conflict loss, loss of mutual concessions, profit from passage,lane-changing cost)are used to build up a game matrix with lane-changing vehicles and other vehicles in game. The dynamics model for vehicle conflict is established by using game matrix. In terms of self-interest maximization of lane-changing vehicles and other vehicles in game matrix, the existence and stability of equilibrium points in various situations are analyzed, and the actual situation of evolution are illustrated. Then the simulation is verified by using MATLAB.The dominant factors influencing vehicles to perform lane occupancy are varying in different situations. The sensitivity analysis is performed for the relationship among time loss, conflict loss, and mutual concession loss, which affect the outcome of vehicle movement. The result indicates that after evolutionary game, the possible outcomes of vehicles are taking lane-changing conflict, taking lane-changing without conflict, not taking lane-changing conflict, and not taking lane-changing without conflict. It is found that the loss of mutual concessions and the time loss would motivate vehicles to engage in lane-occupation.The lane-changing cost and the conflict loss would inhibit vehicles from lane-occupation behavior. The results explain the reasons for the existence of traffic conflicts in urban traffic, and provide a reference for driving decision and alleviating traffic congestion.
