Recycled Asphalt Mixture Production Process Based on Method of Fuzzy Comment and Focused Decision
The fluctuations of mixing temperature, mixing time, admixture mixing sequence, and storage time during production significantly affect the road performance of recycled asphalt mixtures. To explore the influences of these factors on the road performance of recycled asphalt mixtures, the recycled asphalt mixture AC-16C with 20%recycled asphalt pavement(RAP)was designed by using the Marshall test. The specimens were molded with various production process parameters. The key performance indicators(e.g.,dynamic stability, maximum bending strain,freeze-thaw splitting strength ratio, and residual stability)of recycled asphalt mixtures were measured through the rutting test,low-temperature bending test,freeze-thaw splitting test, and immersion Marshall test. The method of fuzzy comment and focused decision was adopted to comprehensively evaluate the test indicators based on the volume parameters and road performances of recycled asphalt mixture.By calculating the Borda values with various production process schemes, the optimal production parameters were determined. The result indicates that for the recycled asphalt mixture AC-16C with 20%RAP,the optimal mixing temperature is 165℃,which ensures the good high-temperature stability,low-temperature crack resistance, and water stability. The optimal mixing time is 180 s,which ensures the proper integration of recycled and virgin materials without excessive aging. The optimal mixing sequence is as follows:the RAP are firstly mixed for 45 s,followed by the addition of virgin asphalt for another 45 s,and finally the mineral filler is added and mixed for 90 s.This mixing sequence can make the mixture more uniform and compact. The mixture is stored at 150℃for 0.5 hours to further promote the integration of virgin and recycled asphalt, enhancing the mixture overall road performance.
