On the Domestic Tourist Source Regions in Tang Dynasty
Politics, economy, culture and communication are considered as the main factors that influenced the distribution of chief domestic tourist source regions in Tang dynasty. For those factors, the area along the Yellow River from Chang'an to Luoy- ang and BianZhou came into being the first--grade tourist source region, and the district included RunZhou, XuanZhou, Chang- Zhou, Sughou HuZhou, HangZhou, YueZhou and YangZhou as the second--grade. Chengdu districts, as well as the drainage ar- ea of the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River which was among XiangZhou, TanZhou and JiangZhou were the third--grade tourist source regions. Chang'an district was the most important tourist source region in Tang dynasty all the while. The tourist source among XiangZhou, TanZhou and JiangZhou converged at the cities along the Yangtze River step by step. The major tourist source regions had a tendency to move to southeast and cluster round the inland areas.
