Reflections on Overseas Curriculum for Master's Degree of Tourism Based on 4R Concept
International modern tourism industry demands a large amount of applied and extraverted talents with abundant enterprise management experience. The constructional 4R concept from Doll, an American education specialist, provides considerable concept basis for solving conflicts and problems existed in China's present higher tourism education curriculum structure and con- tent. In this paper, based on analyzing 4R concept, curriculum for tourism major postgraduates of more than ten countries and ar- eas are compared and researched. By taking examples of Xi'an international Studies University, combining its school management peculiarity and advantages, from its international, applied and professional aspect of talents training, the authors aim at exploring construction of tourism management curriculum for postgraduates, bearing the hope to have the curriculum structure and contents to meet market demand; and accompanying diversification and broadening of tourism education targeting population and educators, to improve quality of higher tourism's popularization, so as to realize "supply creates demands" in respect of employment.
